Churro Plantains

 
 

The crunchy, sweet and spicy flavors of a churro are perfectly delightful! This recipe recreates those textures, aromas and tastes on a roasted plantain. Toss them in our seasonal HO HO HO Spice for an easy treat. Serve these plantains with ice cream, whipped cream cheese or atop a brunch yogurt bowl.

Ingredients:          

3 Medium Plantains, Ripe

2 Tablespoons Butter, Unsalted

3 Tablespoons Beachfront Foods HO HO HO Spice

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Melt the butter and set aside. Prepare the plantains by cutting in half lengthwise and then into 1 to 2 inch pieces.

  2. Toss the plantains in the butter and roast until tender and slightly crispy on the outside, about 15 minutes.

  3. Remove the plantains from the oven, toss with remaining butter and coat in HO HO HO Spice.

  4. Serve the churro plantains with cream cheese that has been whipped with heavy cream, your favorite ice cream or with a yogurt bowl.
